One of the many things I love about my friends is that they’re always willing to bring baked goods and wine to any social function. It has made for some really great evenings! The other night we had girls night. We each brought treats, drank wine, listened to Christmas music and giggled our butts off! It was seriously the perfect night.
I didn’t have much time between work and meeting the girls, but I had all the ingredients for this Peppermint Puppy Chow, so I thought that’d be the perfect treat for wintery, girly get-together. And it was.
This turned out delicious! It’s a great twist to the original puppy chow. It’s a great additional to those last-minute holiday get togethers or to pack as a snack for the family road trip.

Peppermint Puppy Chow
12 ounces vanilla flavored Almond Bark (6 squares)
1 cup crushed candy canes
1 cup powdered sugar
Crush candy canes. (My favorite part!)
Pour 5 cups of Chex Cereal into a large bowl. Melt almond bark according to the package directions.
Pour melted chocolate over cereal, stirring and folding until the cereal is completely covered.
Fold in the crushed candy canes
In a large zipped top bag or covered container (I actually just use a kitchen garbage bag), add the powdered sugar. Pour the chocolate covered cereal/candy canes into the large bag or container. Seal the bag or container and shake until all the cereal is coated with the powdered mixture.
